This week, we’re focusing on the inspiration that comes from travel. Whether a short trip or a long adventure, travel can spark new ideas and broaden your creative horizons. Let’s hit the road!

Traveling exposes you to new environments, cultures, and experiences that can fuel your creativity. Embrace the unfamiliar and let the sights, sounds, and flavors of new places inspire your work.

Inspiration Corner: As a kid, I was lucky enough to travel throughout Europe. I've seen France, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Belgium and a lot of places in Germany. Since moving to the States, I have been to Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee, for camping trips or music festivals.

This is where you fill up your car with gas, start driving, and just yell out: straight, left or right, depending on the road of course. Once we ended up in Bristol at the Virginia and Tennessee State line. We wandered around the Birthplace of Country Music Museum and took lots of pictures of statues around town inspired by music.

We also like to take road trips with purpose, like going to the Tamarack in West Virginia, a premier artisan market. There is so much inspiration that fuels my creativity.

Creative Challenge: Plan a trip to inspire your creativity. Here’s how:

• Choose a Destination: Pick a place that excites and intrigues you, whether it’s a new city, a nature reserve, or a cultural hub.
• Prepare to Document: Bring along a sketchbook, camera, or journal to capture your experiences.
• Be Open: Embrace the journey with an open mind, ready to explore and discover new things.
• Reflect: After your trip, reflect on what inspired you and how you can incorporate these elements into your creative work.

Resource Recommendation: Check out travel guides for creatives. Websites like Lonely Planet and AFAR offer great tips for finding the most inspiring places to visit. Additionally, books like "The Creative Traveler’s Guide" by Richard Read provide insights on how to make the most of your travel experiences for creative inspiration.
